Martina Navratilova, the 18-time Grand Slam singles champion who last month announced she had cancer, said Monday she has no trace of the disease after surgery. “I’m doing well,” Navratilova said. “I am in fact cancer-free. That was taken out when I had the lumpectomy about six weeks ago.” Navratilova has a tiring schedule lined up for the French Open that starts Sunday in Paris — radiation therapy, playing in a senior doubles event and calling matches for the Tennis Channel. And she plans to climb Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain, in December. Denver Post wire services
