EVANS — Police have identified the man who was shot and killed when he pointed a gun at officers during a standoff in Evans early Sunday.
The dead man is Kenneth B. Yeager, 60, said Detective Rita Wolf.
Yeager was thrown out of the Double Clutch Cafe in Evans, south of Greeley, about 1 a.m. after launching into a profane tirade.
He later returned in his Ford Bronco and at about 4 a.m., opened fire on the waiter who had asked him to leave, Wolf said. A SWAT team arrived and began negotiating for his surrender.
The man pointed a gun at officers and they opened fire.
