DENVER—Gov. Bill Ritter has signed several bills to help Coloradans fight cancer.

The bills signed Monday include a measure requiring breast cancer screening be covered by insurance, barring insurance companies from putting limits on cancer medication, and imposing penalties for unreasonably denying insurance claims.

Sen. Morgan Carroll says the bill barring insurance companies from paying financial incentives to encourage denial of claims “prohibits insurance companies from putting profits over people’s health.”
