Tragedy visited John Travolta again when two of his family dogs were killed in a freak accident at Bangor, Maine, International Airport.
City officials said the two small dogs were hit by an airport service vehicle last Thursday, while they were being walked, after arriving on an airplane with members of Travolta’s family.
“Clearly, this is an unfortunate accident. Our deepest sympathies are with the family,” Airport Director Rebecca Hupp told the Bangor Daily News.
Paul Bloch, a publicist for Travolta, told the paper he was unaware of the incident.
Travolta and wife Kelly Preston‘s 16-year-old son, Jett, died suddenly on Jan. 2, 2009, after having a seizure during a family vacation in the Bahamas.
The “Saturday Night Fever” and “Pulp Fiction” actor is an accomplished pilot who often flies to Bangor while en route to his home on Islesboro, off the Maine coast.
It wasn’t clear how many people were traveling with Travolta or if the actor was flying the plane the day the dogs died.
Charlie Sheen may be facing jail time, but he just got a pay raise.
Sheen has agreed to a new contract that will keep him on “Two and a Half Men” for two more seasons, a rep for the actor told UsMagazine.
“To put a fitting end on the two and one-half months of whirlwind speculation, I’m looking forward to returning to my CBS home on Monday nights,” Sheen said in a statement. He concluded by thanking CBS Chief Executive Leslie Moonves for his support.
Sheen, 44, who now makes $825,000 an episode will get nearly $2 million per show, according to Variety. The announcement follows speculation that the actor would leave the show if his salary requirements were not met. Sheen initially asked for $2 million.
He currently faces 45 days in jail for assaulting wife Brooke Mueller Dec. 25. A source revealed to Usmagazine that he is most worried about not being allowed to smoke behind bars. Sheen’s criminal defense attorney, Richard Cummins, has been seeking an exception to the Aspen’s Pitkin County Jail’s no-smoking policy for Sheen that will likely not be met, according to authorities.
Sheen checked himself into an undisclosed rehab facility in February for “preventative measures” and was out the following month. Production for Two and a Half Men halted to accommodate Sheen’s rehab stint. Brooke, 32, also received treatment for her addictions to alcohol and drugs and recently checked out of The Canyon facility in Malibu for at-home treatment. The couple, who are currently living apart, have been married for nearly two years and welcomed twin sons Bob and Max last year.
Megan Fox is ready to take on the photog who snapped her unauthorized in the nude.
In the June issue of Allure, the 24-year-old star of “Transformers” says she has no qualms about hurting the paparazzi photographer who snapped a topless photo of her on the set of her new film.
“If I knew who took this picture, I would personally cause them harm – physical harm,” she said in the magazine’s upcoming issue.
At the time the unauthorized photo was taken, Fox was shooting an independent feature called “Passion Play,” in which she stars alongside Mickey Rourke as a circus sideshow performer.
“I’m at my job and I’m trying to play a character and I’m trying to be serious, and this is the s— that’s happening to me,” Fox told the magazine. “It makes me furious.”
The raven-haired “Transformer” actress is often photographed off set around Los Angeles with her on-again, off-again beau of five years, Brian Austin Green. But she does not appreciate being tabloid fodder – even with her top on.
“I’m not a f—ing reality-TV star that’s courting the paparazzi and wants my f—ing picture taken all the time,” she told Allure.
Lil Jon says he’s not interested in keeping up with the trends in technology — and that includes the iPad.
In a recent interview, the rapper and producer said: “I already have a big … computer”. He called the iPad “just the latest toy.” The 39-year-old is old school when it comes to his tech devices — he still carries the once-hot Sidekick, which he says “types really fast.” He declared: “I ain’t going to buy no iPhone.” He also said the buttons on the BlackBerry are too small — and he has big thumbs.
Jon’s upcoming CD, “Crunk Rock,” is slated for release June 8.
