Thunderstorms moved out of the state after a rocky Tuesday evening in northeastern Colorado, with at least one tornado on the plains in Weld County followed by lightning in the sky over Denver.

At 5:30 p.m. a tornado was spotted about 5 miles northwest of Platte ville, or 14 miles southwest of Greeley, but no severe damage was immediately reported.

Meanwhile, a low-pressure system was expected to dump snow in the western and central mountains. Up to 8 inches of snow could fall, and winds could reach 25 mph.
