BOULDER, Colo.—The University of Colorado at Boulder has appointed an interim provost after a finalist for the job withdrew from consideration for the job.
Russell Moore will fill the position starting July 1.
CU-Boulder Chancellor Philip DiStefano says Moore currently serves as interim vice chancellor for research. Moore took over that post from Stein Sture, who stepped in as interim provost in April.
Sture will return to his previous position.
Moore holds an adjunct professorship in medicine at the University of Colorado’s Anschutz Medical Campus at the University of Colorado-Denver.
The provost is the chief academic officer for the Boulder campus, overseeing all research, teaching and faculty operations.
