Aiming for “aggressive stability,” ie., having it both ways, CBS today shook up its fall 2010-11 TV schedule.
The network cut seven series and added an update on “Hawaii Five-O”; a Jim Belushi dramedy called “The Defenders”; a cop family drama with Tom Selleck and Donnie Wahlberg called “Blue Bloods”; a Twitter-inspired comedy, “$#*! My Dad Says,” starring William Shatner, and the romantic comedy “Mike & Molly” about a couple who find love at an Overeaters Anonymous meeting.
The network pink-slipped the aging series “Ghost Whisperer,” “Cold Case” and “The New Adventures of Old Christine” among others.
Among the scheduling moves: “Big Bang Theory” bounces to Thursdays to launch a comedy block. “CSI: NY” switches to Fridays and “Survivor” shuffles to Wednesdays.
A spinoff of “Criminal Minds” starring Forest Whitaker is slated for misdeason.
