Marvin Hamlisch is too ill with pneumonia to perform at the “Sock Hop Fifties” show Saturday night at Boettcher Concert Hall.
The show will go on with Colorado Symphony associate conductor Scott O’Neil, who will lead the symphony, along with Jimmy Beaumont and the Skyliners.
Hamlisch, 65, composed the scores to more than 40 movies. He has won three Academy Awards, four Grammys, four Emmys, a Tony and three Golden Globe awards. He received the Pulitzer Prize for “A Chorus Line” in 1976.
