Since 2004, Boulder-based Bead for Life has offered impoverished Ugandan women a chance to receive health care, housing and education with profits from the sale of jewelry they make from recycled paper. Their jewelry is sold at bead parties held throughout the United States, Europe and around the world. For each $10 necklace sold, $7.52 goes to the beader and community development efforts. The organization celebrates its new location with an open house from 4:30-7:30 p.m. today at 2336 Canyon Blvd. in Boulder. Light food and refreshments will be provided. Info at and 303-554-5901.
