If you’re rooting for Brett Favre to return next season for another NFL title run, you’d better become a Southern Mississippi baseball fan.
The Minnesota Vikings QB and Southern Miss alum paid a visit to the Golden Eagles team Thursday as they practiced for a key Conference USA series with Memphis.
In response to outfielder Justin Diliberto’s question about Favre’s possible return next season, the quarterback made a pact with the team.
“If you guys go back to the College World Series this year, I will come back and play. How about that?” said Favre, who’ll be 41 in October. “You go back and I go back.”
After answering more questions, Favre ended things with a vote of confidence. “Guys, remember the bet,” he said. “Y’all go back and I go back. I promise, I will be keeping up with you. Good luck.”
