Lockheed Martin has pledged to donate $1 million to the Denver School of Science and Technology, an open-enrollment public school serving middle- and high-school students.

The grant, which was announced Thursday, will be used to expand the school’s community school model into four more sixth-through-12th- grade schools in the Denver area by 2020. The money will also support the school’s science, technology, engineering and math curriculum.

Lockheed employees also committed five years of volunteer support to the school.
