CAMDEN, N.J. — A sex offender has been charged with using a fake name and someone else’s Social Security number to get a job as a census canvasser in New Jersey. He was arrested after a concerned mom alerted authorities.
Amy Schmalbach of Pennsauken says she thought a census worker who came to her door May 4 looked like a man she had seen on the state’s sex- offender website. After he left her porch, she called police. He was arrested the next day.
