A coalition including Colorado Family Action and the Colorado Catholic Conference on Thursday withdrew a proposed amendment to the state constitution that would have prohibited government from infringing on the religious liberty of an individual or organization.
Proponents could not be reached Friday for comment on why they withdrew Initiative 51 from consideration in the November election. They were facing a challenge in the Colorado Supreme Court over the title and wording of their proposal.
