PARKER — Time flies, and, eventually, so do baby owls.

Several weeks ago, a family of great horned owls decided to make their home at the Lowe’s Home Improvement store in Parker.

Store employees adopted the mom, the dad and their three babies, who settled in the garden department.

Manager Bart Knight said the owls made a nest on top of a pallet of organic potting soil.

“We have needed that pallet a couple of times. I’ve had to call my office and say ‘Can I have another pallet?’ because I can’t mess with that one right now,” Knight said.

But store employees have not seen the birds for a week.

“They went ahead and grew up on us,” Knight said. “They grew up quite fast; they started jumping pallet to pallet … They ended up flying around out here in the outside area.” 9News
