GOLDEN, Colo.—Authorities say the district attorney for two southwestern Colorado counties died after being thrown from his motorcycle on Interstate 70 west of Golden.
The Colorado State Patrol says 57-year-old Jim Wilson was making a turn at about 7:55 a.m. Saturday when he lost control of his motorcycle. Trooper Matt Petty says Wilson was thrown from his motorcycle and his body rolled down an embankment.
Wilson was wearing a helmet at the time.
Wilson’s term covering Montezuma and Dolores counties was expected to end January 2013.
