BOULDER, Colo.—A Colorado man who pleaded guilty to trying to arrange a sexual encounter with a woman and her 6-year-old daughter was sentenced to 3 years in prison.
Police say 31-year-old Brandt Owen Deboard arranged a meeting with the woman through an online chat room last year. The woman told police and an undercover officer arrested Deboard at a hotel.
Deboard, of Longmont, was emotional during his sentencing Friday and told a judge he had been “going down the wrong path. Deboard plead guilty to attempted sexual assault on a child.
Deboard will have to register as sex offender and will be on parole for two years after his release from prison.
