ENGLEWOOD, Colo.—Zeb Baylie threw five scoreless innings and hit a two-run home run to lead Stratton to a 10-2 victory over Fleming in the 1A state baseball championship game on Saturday.

Baylie struck out 12, walked four and allowed only one hit while throwing 102 pitches. Stratton (11-3) won its first state title in baseball.

Trey Thompson singled and scored on a wild pitch to start a four-run third inning for Stratton. Josh Johnson had an RBI single and Baylie walked and scored in the inning.

Leading 7-0, Jesse McConnell drove in Jorge Cruz with a single. Two pitches later Baylie homered over the right field fence.

Cruz replaced Baylie at the start of the sixth inning and allowed a run in each of the last two innings to Fleming (16-4).
