Fourth annual HERA Climb4Life Colorado; in Boulder area; includes hiking and climbing activities and outdoor skills clinics taught by professional guides and professional climbers; new in 2010 is orienteering and wilderness first-aid training; for women, men and children age 6 and older; $60-$75.

Carmichael Training Systems International Classic; at Cheyenne Mountain State Park in Colorado Springs; UCI C2, USA Cycling Pro XCT stage race with a $10,000 cash prize for the elite men’s and women’s divisions; Friday — time trail for all classes, Saturday — all amateurs race a 4.9-mile short cross country course, Sunday — UCI elites regulation “Criterium,” amateurs race second cross country course; entries capped at 350, early registration encouraged.

Estes Park Marathon and Half Marathon; also 10K and 5K race options; highest paved marathon course in the world and USATF certified course; includes team division of three to five runners for marathon; $35-$70 for individual, $165 marathon relay team (no race-day registration for marathon/half marathon).
