COMMERCE CITY, Colo.—Annie Kunz scored three goals Wednesday evening as the Wheat Ridge Farmers won their second straight Class 4A state girls soccer championship with a 3-0 victory over the Valor Christian Eagles at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
Kunz, a junior forward, scored goals in the third, 28th and 74th minutes, beating multiple defenders each time. She finished the year with a team-high 25 goals.
Wheat Ridge (17-1-2), the No. 4 seed from the Jefferson County League, finished the season with 10 straight victories.
Second-seeded Valor Christian (17-2), a Highlands Ranch school, had not allowed a goal in 12 games before Kunz’ scored early in the title game.
Wheat Ridge goalie Hannah Van Wetter had 10 saves, while Valor Christian keeper Kenzie Averill stopped five shots.
