• Because of an editing error, a quote from Rick Kahn of the Colorado Division of Wildlife in a story about bighorn sheep on Page 1A Monday lacked proper context. In saying “not one thing” has worked to reverse the sheep’s population decline, Kahn was referring to a number of efforts to reduce diseases and other stresses on the population, not just the interaction with mountain goats. Because of a reporting error, the story also inaccurately said mountain-goat populations have been allowed to multiply unchecked. Mountain goats are hunted in Colorado to help manage the population.
• Because of a reporting error, a story on Page 4B Wednesday misattributed information to Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson. Police have not yet said where Marcus Duran, 17, was standing when he was shot and killed by a homeowner during a home-invasion robbery early Monday morning.
