The body of a man in his mid-fifties was discovered Saturday morning in a drainage ditch on the north side of the St. Vrain River in Lyons.
A family picnicking discovered the body off Main Street and returned home to call police, according to a written statement from the Boulder County Sheriff’s office.
Police and paramedics responded. The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
His name is not being released pending notification of his family and foul play is not suspected. An autopsy is scheduled for Sunday, according to the Boulder County coroner’s office.
