DENVER—Keeton Krause scored on a fluke play in the ninth inning Saturday as Mountain View won its second Class 4A state baseball championship with a 1-0 victory over Broomfield at All-City Field.

Krause, who had two of Mountain View’s three hits in the game, had a one-out single and scored when he coaxed a pair of throwing errors while attempting to steal second base. Broomfield catcher Nick Leonard overthrew second on the play, and center fielder Dan Geubelle threw the ball away when Krause went to third.

Derek Neeper earned the victory. He allowed no runs on 1 hit, no walks and 2 strikeouts in 2 innings of work for Mountain View (24-2), the No. 1 seed from Loveland which also won the crown in 2002. Nick Miller was stellar through the first seven, striking out 12.

Noah Coleman took the loss despite an impressive effort. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits, 1 walk and 5 strikeouts in nine innings for seventh-seeded Broomfield (21-6).
