KANSAS CITY, Mo.—Big 12 athletic directors emerged from a second day of meetings on Wednesday expressing hope that the league will stay intact. But they admit they’re also looking at what options they might have if it doesn’t.
Nebraska’s Tom Osborne said he hoped something definite might be known after presidents and chancellors—who have the final say—begin meeting on Thursday.
The future of the 14-year-old league was thrown into question when the more lucrative Big Ten said it might look to expand. Missouri and Nebraska indicated they would be willing to listen if they were invited.
