A man who drove into a food-cart vendor last year was sentenced Tuesday to 100 hours of community service and must pay $7,000 to the vendor, the Denver district attorney’s office said Tuesday.
Mead Myers, 31, pleaded guilty to careless driving resulting in serious bodily injury, a misdemeanor. He told police he fell asleep just before the crash off Sheridan Boulevard near Kentucky Avenue in June 2009.
The vendor, Pedro Hernandez, was seriously injured, prosecutors said.
