Even Ben Hogan might have become a better putter if more permanent markers were available in his day and he had thought to draw a line on his ball to help with putter setup and aiming. Most golf stores sell a golf ball marker kit, with a Sharpie-like marker and a plastic cup that fits over the ball and has a slot so the line can be drawn straight.
