BERLIN — Three experts working to defuse a bomb from World War II were killed when the device exploded, injuring six others, police said Wednesday.
About 7,000 residents from the area around Goettingen were being evacuated when the 1,100-pound bomb blew up late Tuesday.
Construction workers had found the 65-year-old explosive device buried in an empty lot where the city is building a sports arena.
