John Manuel Vallez, 27, will face a felony charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor as well as a misdemeanor count of theft in connection with a robbery at a salon at a Cherry Creek salon in April, the Denver District Attorney’s Office said today.
Vallez is a suspect in several similar metro-area robberies at salons in which a man used young children to distract salon employees in order to steal wallets and other items from customers and employees.
In the Denver case, he is accused of rummaging through a break room and stealing several items at the salon at 201 Steele St. The thief came in on the pretense that the child needed to use a restroom.
Vallez is in the Denver City Jail on $25,000 bond. He was arrested last Thursday.
