Freshman Joe Bosshard finished sixth in the finals of the 10,000-meter run, and three of his University of Colorado teammates qualified for the finals at the NCAA Outdoor Championships on Thursday.

Bosshard’s time of 28:59.87 was 22 seconds behind the winner, Sam Chelanga of Liberty. Jeremy Dodson advanced in the 200 meters, and Emma Coburn and Shalaya Kipp finished 1-2 in their 3,000-meter steeplechase heat. Kristen Hemphill of Colorado State finished fifth in the other heat and also qualified. The finals of the 200 and the steeplechase are on Saturday.

• Air Force’s Nick Frawley finished tied for third in the pole vault with a height of 17 feet, 4 1/2 inches —just 4 inches below the winner, Jordan Scott of Kansas.

Area youths advance to world golf championship.

Palmer Giro of Fort Collins and Zach Tripp of Littleton qualified in the boys 15-17 division for the Callaway Junior World Championships next month in San Diego. Girls qualifers were Shinwoo Lee of Aurora and Bryce Schroeder of Pueblo (15-17), Calli Ringsby of Cherry Hills Village and Hannah Wood of Centennial (13-14) and Sydney Merchant of Morrison (11-12).
