ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Police in Alaska say a 45-year-old man riding his bicycle to work survived a grizzly-bear attack.
Anchorage police say Sean Berkey was riding his bike to his office at the Alaska Native Medical Center on Tuesday when a female brown bear with a cub charged at him. The pharmacist tried to put the bike between him and the sow, but he suffered a laceration to his ear and puncture wounds to his right calf.
