CASPER, Wyo.—Montana Western’s Taylor Nahrgang took the lead in steer wrestling on a 4.6-second run at the College National Finals Rodeo on Thursday night.

Nahrgang won the first round with a 3.4-second run, and he had a 4.9-second run in the second round. He has a total of 12.9 seconds after three rounds—more than a second ahead of Montana State’s Levi Guenzler in second.

Weber State’s Rob Webb became the new leader in tie-down roping with a total time of 30.3 seconds after a 9.5-second run Thursday night.

In goat tying, last year’s all-around cowgirl Nikki Steffes took the lead. The University of Wyoming student edged past Bailey Guthrie from Western Texas College and Jordan Thurston from Gillette College.
