Police have arrested a man who allegedly returned to the scene of a fatal shooting in Denver and turned himself in as the suspect.
The shooting happened at about 6 p.m. at 6767 E. 39th Ave., said Sonny Jackson, a Denver Police Department spokesman.
Jackson said two men were arguing when one man shot the other and the gunman fled the scene before officers arrived.
The victim was taken to University of Colorado Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
As police processed the shooting scene, at an apartment complex, a man showed up and told them he was the assailant, Jackson said.
The suspect was identified this evening as 37-year-old Pernell Himes. He is being held at the Denver County Jail for investigation of first-degree murder.
The victim’s name has not yet been released.
