The porch of a southwest Denver home went up in flames early this morning and witnesses told investigators the fire was sparked by a Roman candle.
The incident happened at about 3:10 a.m. near the intersection of West Ada Place and South Hazel Court, said Lt. Phil Champagne, a Denver Fire Department spokesman.
No one was injured in the fire.
Denver firefighters put out the fire, which was contained to an enclosed porch, in about ten minutes, Champagne said.
Any fireworks that ignite or explode are illegal in Denver. The incident remains under investigation.
