NEW YORK — Former Secretary of State Made leine Albright is working on a “part memoir and part cautionary tale” about Europe from 1937 to 1948. HarperCollins said Albright’s “While I Was Growing Up” will be published in 2012.
Albright was born in Czechoslovakia in 1937 and was forced to leave after Nazi Germany gained control of it. She spent much of World War II in England, then moved to the U.S. in 1948 and lived in Denver as a teen. She was secretary of state under President Bill Clinton.
Her book will combine personal memories, archival material and interviews to offer a “child’s view” and “adult’s broader perspective” of the era. The Associated Press
