Carol Kreck, who was charged with trespassing after a 2008 political town-hall meeting in Denver, has filed a federal lawsuit against the city and the Denver police officer who arrested her.
Kreck was arrested while holding a paper sign that read “McCain = Bush” in the galleria outside of the Denver Performing Arts Complex, where Sen. John McCain was set to appear.
The lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Denver on Wednesday, alleges Kreck’s constitutional rights were violated and names Officer Matthew Canino and the city and county of Denver.
