AURORA, Colo.—Aurora police say a 78-year-old man who died after he was run over by a bus was likely intoxicated.
Clinton Grider was found lying in the street in the east-Denver suburb April 5. Witnesses said the Aurora man was hit by a Regional Transportation District bus, but they didn’t know how the accident occurred.
Aurora police said Wednesday that tests showed Grider had a blood-alcohol content of 0.110 at the time of the accident. The legal limit is 0.08.
Investigators say witness statements and the toxicology tests lead them to believe that Grider fell under the bus. No charges will be filed in the accident.
Grider’s death was among four in less than a week involving the Denver-area buses.
