More than 3,000 cyclists are heading out Saturday morning for a 150-mile ride along the Front Range in support of research to fight multiple sclerosis.

The 25th anniversary Great-West Life Bike MS/Colorado’s Ride will start and end at the Front Range Community College in Westminster. The cyclists will ride for two days on a route along the Front Range to the Colorado State University campus in Fort Collins and then back.

This year, there’s also a 25-mile bike ride Saturday, for those who want a shorter ride.

According to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, more than 9,000 Coloradans have been diagnosed with the disease.

Multiple sclerosis interrupts flow of information between the brain and the body, until those affected become immobile.

Funds for the national society fund research, programs and services.
