Eugenia Bone at the gardens

Tickets are available for July’s installment of the Bonfils-Stanton Lecture Series at the Denver Botanic Gardens. The lecture, called “The Kitchen Ecosystem,” will feature food writer and avid canner Eugenia Bone, above. She will cover such topics as how to use preserved foods for everyday meals, and how cooking can be thrifty and uncomplicated. July 29 at 7 p.m. in Mitchell Hall at the Denver Botanic Gardens, 1007 York St. Pre-registration admission is $20-$25. In addition to the lecture, for an extra $5 attendees can partake in a tour of edible plants in the gardens. Farm fresh

The Larimer County Farmers Market is open for business Saturday mornings through through Oct. 16 at the Larimer County Courthouse parking lot, 200 W. Oak St., Fort Collins. This event boasts 75 vendors selling a variety of fresh foods, crafts and more. On the first Saturday of each month, there’s also a kids program. .
