FORT COLLINS, Colo.—Fort Collins police say an armed man has been shot and wounded in a confrontation with an officer.
Authorities say the man was injured after police responded to a call about a disturbance between a man and a woman at about 7 a.m. Sunday.
Police spokeswoman Rita Davis declined to say whether the man fired a weapon or who fired the shot that injured him.
Dan Belknap, who lives two blocks from the scene, says he heard five or six rapid gunshots. Belknap is a website producer for the Fort Collins Coloradoan.
No names have been released. Police say the officer has been placed on paid administrative leave during the investigation.
