Fort Collins police are investigating a shooting involving an officer that sent an armed suspect to the hospital Sunday morning.
Officers investigating a report of a disturbance between a man and a woman encountered an armed man when they arrived at the 1600 block of West Mountain Avenue about 7 a.m., according to a release.
Shots were fired and the wounded man was taken to Medical Center of the Rockies for treatment. Police believe the man, whom they haven’t identified, is in his 20s.
The officer, also not identified, has been placed on paid administrative leave, a standard procedure in officer-involved shootings. Tom McGhee, The Denver Post
