A single engine Piper Husky slid off the end of a runway at Centennial Airport about 1:14 p.m. today, according to the South Metro Fire District.

South Metro spokesman Andy Lyon said the incident occurred during takeoff and two men were on board.

After it veered off the runway, Lyon said the plane slid down an embankment.

Lyon said neither man complained of injuries. Neither was taken to a hospital.

Lyon said the plane was badly damaged but did not catch fire.
