DENVER—The fourth person in a car that slammed into the back of a Colorado state weed-spraying truck has died.
Fifteen-year-old Daniel Chute of Greenville, Ill., was in the back seat of a Chevy Impala that hit the truck Monday near Burlington in eastern Colorado. The front-seat passengers—driver Vernon Chute, 79, and front-seat passenger Norma Chute, 77—died at the scene.
Another teenager in the car, 15-year-old David Wilds, died a few hours after the accident. All four lived in Greenville.
Colorado State Patrol Trooper Heather Cobler says the crash is still under investigation but that signs alerting motorists to the weed-spraying operation and the CDOT truck had amber lights illuminated. The truck driver survived.
