Turns out that TuesdaysCivic Center Eats days, when lunch vendors take over the main promenade — aren’t the only days to get good cheap eats in and around the Civic Center. The Steuben’s Food Service truck has been staking out the center of the park during lunch hours nearly every day — and yes, they had lobster rolls. (Check the Steuben’s Truck page on Facebook for updated locations, which change frequently.) Rick’s Tamales and Street Tacos, just across the street on Cleveland and 15th St., offers a colorful and satisfying $6 lunch: A fresh taco and tamale (your choice of fillings), handmade tortilla chips and a soda on the side ( for info). And what might be Denver’s best-kept lunch secret: Udi’s sandwiches at the Coffee Mug cafe (located inside the Denver Public Library) for about four bucks.
