CARBONDALE, Colo.—Authorities in Garfield County say a wildfire that threatened 90 homes was started accidentally with a firework.

Garfield County sheriff’s spokesman Philip Strouse said Tuesday that Anthony Antonacci of Glenwood Springs was issued a summons for 4th degree arson for his role in the blaze.

Firefighters got some help in stopping it from spreading.

Two helicopters from the federal fire management center dumped water on the fire. In addition, the Idaho City Hotshots were traveling home from another fire and were sent to help out. They were about an hour away on Interstate 70 when the Carbondale fire broke out.
