MONTROSE — The Colorado National Guard has joined the search for a missing radio DJ from Montrose.
Forty-eight-year-old Rick Steele went missing Thursday while taking his dogs for a walk near a canal . Searchers fear Steele may have fallen into the waters.
Montrose County spokeswoman Kristin Scuderi said a Colorado National Guard helicopter arrived Tuesday to help the sheriff’s department. Steele’s friends are also helping in the search in western Colorado.
Authorities searched his home and vehicle over the weekend and say they don’t suspect foul play. Steele’s truck was found near the canal, along with the two dogs.
Steele hosts a weekday morning show on KBNG-FM.
