NORTHGLENN, Colo.—Authorities say a 22-year-old woman from Fort Collins was killed after her car was hit by a driver going the wrong way on Interstate 25 in Northglenn.

The accident happened late Monday in Northglenn after drivers reported seeing a Toyota RAV4 driving southbound in the northbound lanes. Mary Warren was pronounced dead at the scene.

The RAV4’s driver, 35-year-old Elizabeth Jane Long of Denver, was arrested on investigation of vehicular homicide.

The RAV4 hit at least one vehicle before it ran into the 1991 Honda Accord station wagon that Warren was riding in. The driver swerved to avoid the RAV4 but it hit the Honda on the passenger’s side.

The Honda driver, 32-year-old Jonathan Swanson of Loveland, suffered moderate injuries in the crash.
