DENVER—Denver International Airport officials say nearly 4.4 million passengers traveled through the airport in May, making it the second busiest May ever for DIA.

DIA Manager of Aviation Kim Day says the numbers are encouraging and that it appears it will be a busy summer travel season. May’s number are an increase of 4.3 percent from the same month last year.

Airport officials say almost 20.4 million passengers have gone through DIA during the first five months of 2010. That’s an increase of 3.8 percent from the first five months last year.
