The body of a woman pulled from the Colorado River west of Grand Junction has been identified.

The Mesa County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 43-year-old Miriam Y. Galvez of Clifton.

The cause and manner of Galvez’ death has not been determined and is pending “further evaluation,” the coroner’s office said in a media release.

Rafters reported seeing the body on Sunday. A county coroner’s investigator recovered the body about three hours later.

An investigation into her death is ongoing.
