Amory Davis of Chadds Ford, Pa., and Max Homa of Valencia, Calif., lead the 107th Trans-Mississippi Championship after the second round Wednesday at Denver Country Club.

Davis shot a 4-under-par 66 and Homa a 65 to stand at 6-under 134, one stroke ahead of Dodge Kemmer of Palo Alto, Calif., and Scott Pinckney of Scottsdale, Ariz. Gunner Wiebe of Aurora, who won the Colorado Golf Association’s Match Play Championship last Friday, is the top area golfer, in a four-way tie for ninth at even-par 140.

Arp, Condon lose at Amateur Public Links.

Riley Arp of Fort Collins and Greg Condon of Monte Vista lost their round of 64 matches at the U.S. Amateur Public Links Championship and were eliminated.

Griffin Wood of Boonville, Ind., posted a 2-and-1 win over Arp at Bryan Park Golf & Conference Center in Greensboro, N.C.

Condon lost 2 and 1 to Scott Langley of St. Louis.

Colorado Open

The HealthOne Colorado Open begins July 22 at Green Valley Ranch Golf Club, and the top threesome to watch — former Broncos great John Elway, three-time champion Bill Loeffler of Highlands Ranch and Meridian head pro Paul Lobato — tees off at 7:50 a.m.

Oraee ousts Park.

David Oraee of Greeley Country Club ended Jonathan Park’s chances of sweeping the CGA’s junior championships with a 3-and-1 win in the round of 16 at the Junior Match Play Championship at CommonGround in Aurora.

Park plays for CommonGround and won the Junior Stroke Play last month. Oraee is looking for his second title of the summer after winning the AJGA Aspen Golf Classic last month.
