A 14-year-old girl fought off a would-be abductor after she left a swim lesson at the Cherry Knolls pool this morning, the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Department said.

The girl told investigators she took a short cut off a bike path at about 10 a.m. and encountered the man, who said “hi,” before grabbing her from behind and saying, Don’t you know it’s rude to turn your back on someone when they are talking to you?”

The girl wrestled herself free and ran home, the Sheriff’s Department said in a statement.

The man had a distinctive tattoo, a spider web on his right hand, the department stated.

He was described as white, about 18 to 25 years old, about 6 feet tall with brown spiked hair. he was wearing a greet T-shirt and green camouflaged pants, investigators said.
