COLORADO SPRINGS — A 6-year-old who was bitten in the face by a pit bull Monday remains at the hospital, and is recovering from her injuries, reports her parents on a Web page through Memorial Hospital.
Genevieve Riedel, mother of 6-year-old Meagan Garrow, reports that the little girl is being brave through the whole ordeal, which included emergency surgery on her face.
“She is doing her best to not complain and she has not shed a tear since the incident,” Riedel wrote on Wednesday. “Meagan will have a long road of recovery ahead of her. She has endured one 4 hour surgery already and will need at least one other to start on reconstruction.”
Meagan was playing at a friend’s house when she was bitten by the pit bull which had gotten out of its yard. The dog was later euthanized that day by the Humane Society of the Pikes Peak Region.
